Christmas in July 2026: Project #2 – A Quilted Stocking Gift Tag

Who says gift tags have to be ordinary? For Project #2 in my short but sweet Christmas in July series, I created a shaped stocking tag that's just as fun as the gift it will decorate!

Using the Stitched Stockings Bundle, I turned the stocking die into an opening tag by placing it just over the folded edge of a 4-1/4" x 11" piece of Real Red cardstock before die cutting. Leaving the top uncut creates a hinge, allowing the stocking to open and reveal a space inside to write the recipient's name.

The front showcases more of the beautiful A Stitched Season Designer Series Paper. If you saw my first project in this series, you already know this paper reminds me so much of my years working in a quilt shop. The stitched patterns and classic Christmas colors make every project feel warm, cozy, and handmade. I combined several of the patterns into a quilt-inspired stocking, then added a pieced star block to the cuff for a traditional quilted look.
