The 12 Projects of Christmas 2026: Project #6 - Christmas Lantern
It's time for Project #6 of my 12 Projects of Christmas 2026, and this one is something special! We're taking a little break from Christmas cards to create a beautiful Christmas Lantern that's both a festive decoration AND a clever way to give a gift!

I used the gorgeous papers from the Neutral Noel Suite Collection to create the lantern's elegant roof, then decorated the sides with snowy winter scenes. And yes, there's even a little pocket on the front that's perfect for slipping in a gift card! How fun is that?
I used FOUR different sets of dies to bring this project to life! The Everyday Arches Dies created the lantern's windows, while the Winter Adventures Dies provided those beautiful evergreen trees. The charming little houses and snowy village scenes were created with the Welcome Noel Dies. Finally, I used the Noel Tidings Bundle to make the decorative tag and greenery hanging from the roof.
A few gold accents and a pretty green gingham bow add just the right finishing touches. I even added a cardstock handle to the top so the lantern can be carried or displayed!
One of my favorite things about this project is that there's no bottom tray. That means you can simply lift the lantern and place a battery-operated candle underneath. Imagine how pretty that soft glow will look shining through the windows! Please use a battery-operated candle rather than a real flame.

Now, I'll admit, this project has a few more pieces than our usual Christmas cards, but don't let that scare you! I've created an Amy's Cutting Measurements graphic to help you get everything ready, and I'll walk you through the assembly in the video below.
Whether you use it as a Christmas decoration, fill the pocket with a gift card, or make one for someone special, I think you'll love how this little lantern comes together.
Be sure to watch the video tutorial above to see exactly how I made it. I can't wait for you to give this one a try!
Happy Stamping!
Amy
