Project #10 of this year's 12 Projects of Christmas is simple, beautiful, and elegant. Using black and gold, I think, will automatically step a card up a notch. I think my favorite thing about this card, though, is its simplicity.
I started with a piece of Basic Black cardstock measuring 4 1/4" x 10 1/2", scored at 5 1/2". The front of the card is 1/2" shorter than the back, and I put a 4 1/4" x 3/4" strip of Gold Foil Sheets at the bottom inside of the card so that 1/2" of it shows from the front when the card is shut. Not pictured, but I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock 4" x 4 1/2" to fit in place above the Gold Foil strip on the inside of the card to allow for a sentiment and a message.
But the "star" of the show (get it?? 😂) is the Stars at Night Hybrid Embossing Folder. The folder itself embosses the Gold Foil in this card so incredibly beautifully, but the star dies in the Hybrid Embossing Folder allow for the foil to get cut at the same time it is being embossed. And just look at all the other dies included with the folder! So many possibilities, and some that coordinate perfectly with the Stars at Night stamp set.
You can watch below as I put this card together, and scroll to the bottom of this post to see a list of supplies I used to make this card, along with links to my online store.
Happy Christmas!
