Peek-a-Boo Slider Card

Almost two years ago now, I was introduced to this unique Fun Fold card. I don't know where I first saw it, but I knew I had to make one. That one turned into my first in The 12 Projects of Christmas 2022.

It's such a pretty card, and it was a big hit! But what you can't see from here is that when you open the card, a new piece of cardstock slides in front of the window with another sentiment. Ack! So cool!!!

Last week during What's Up! Stampers, I decided I wanted to do the same basic card but with a completely different twist. I wanted to use the Hearts & Hugs Bundle (and remember, with June's bundle sale - an EXTRA 10% off stamp and die bundles, you can pick this bundle up for a steal!).

The hamster in this stamp set just cracks me up, and I knew the slider part of the card would feature him. The outside was a little trickier, but with the adorable animals and the sweet flower dies in the die set, I knew it would come together. And it did.

As you can see, instead of the fancier punch I used in the Christmas card above, I opted for a simple circle. The 2 3/8" Circle Punch worked perfectly the opening that highlighted the badgers. But remember...when you open the card, you get a surprise...a card that opens to reveal a happy hamster!

You really need to check out this card in action:

I love how the card tricks you a little bit, and the trick is actually quite simple to create. You start with three main pieces of cardstock the following sizes.

Thick Basic White cardstock:

-Back panel 5 3/4" x 4 1/4", score at 5 1/2"

-Front panel 8 1/4" x 4 1/4", score at 5 1/2"

Summer Splash cardstock:

-Inside 4 1/4" x 8 1/2", score at 4 1/4"

What always intrigues me about this card is that you don't (and can't, really) even seal the pieces together. They kind of float. It has to happen this way so the slider can freely do its thing. But do you see what I mean? Quite intriguing.

There are two ways you can watch me make a pop-out slider card. You can watch me make this exact card by heading to my Facebook page to watch What's Up! Stampers from June 12, 2024, or you can watch me make the original Christmas card in October of 2022. You can watch that one here:

Please let me know if you have any questions, and don't forget to get your stamp and die bundle order in by Sunday! It's the last day of the sale, and you know there are bundles you still want at a discount! You can place your order at bit.ly/shopwithamyjune24! When you spend at least $75, you will also recieve a grab box in the mail filled with retired products worth at least $75. DOUBLE YOUR MONEY! Contact me with your questions!

Happy sliding!

Amy
