One Sketch, Five Colorful Cards

One of my favorite parts of being a Stampin' Up!® demonstrator is finding fun ways to introduce new products—and even more fun when I can involve my team and my customers in the process! I sometimes call this process "Choose What I Use."

As we welcomed the newest In Colors, I decided to turn our team meeting into a little color challenge. Stampin' Up! shared suggested color combinations for each new In Color, and instead of simply showing finished cards, I let my team decide which combinations they wanted to see come to life.

For each In Color, everyone voted on their favorite suggested pairing. The winning combination became our project! I cut all of the cardstock and Designer Series Paper right there during the meeting, so everyone could watch the colors come together one layer at a time. It's amazing how different a design can feel simply by changing the color palette, and seeing each card evolve in real time made the experience even more interactive.

The layout itself is wonderfully simple, which makes it perfect for highlighting color. With just three panels of Designer Series Paper, a few layered cardstock pieces, and a sentiment across the center, the focus stays right where it belongs—on the beautiful color combinations. A few stamped butterflies and some embellishments add just the right finishing touches without overpowering the design.

I always enjoy creating cards that are easy to duplicate, and this sketch is one you'll be able to use again and again. Whether you switch up the papers, substitute different stamped images, or use completely different color families, it's a layout that adapts beautifully to almost any occasion.
