Looking Slim for Graduation

There’s just something extra special about giving a graduation gift in a handmade card…especially when there’s a fun surprise tucked inside! This slim-line graduation card features the Balloon Festoon Bundle from Stampin’ Up!®, and I absolutely love how elegant and celebratory it turned out. The bundle includes both stamps and dies, along with SEVEN different balloon dies in a variety of sizes, making it easy to create layered balloon arrangements for all kinds of occasions.
For this card, I went with a classic black, white, and silver color combination with touches of shimmer for a sophisticated graduation look, and you can make them in advance because they're in no specific school color. The balloons were die cut from Basic Black cardstock, Silver Foil Sheets, and the gorgeous Sunset Shimmer Vellum. The vellum adds such a soft, pearly glow and gives the card a really polished feel in person. I also added a few sparkly embellishments and silver stamped stars to carry the celebratory theme throughout the design.

One of my favorite parts of this card is the hidden money holder inside! Instead of simply tucking cash into an envelope, the inside flap creates a built-in pocket that keeps the gift secure while still feeling fun and interactive. It’s one of those cards that looks impressive but is actually very simple to recreate.

The Basic Black cardstock base is cut to 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored at 3 1/2" and 7". The Basic White panels on both the inside and outside measure 3 3/8" x 8 3/8". Those slim-line proportions make this card feel a little extra special and give plenty of room for the balloon design to really shine.
This design would work beautifully for graduations, birthdays, retirements, or any celebration worthy of a little sparkle and a cash surprise inside. The Balloon Festoon Bundle is definitely one of those versatile sets I know I’ll be reaching for again and again!
