Half Front Card with Silly Old Bear

Sometimes a card design comes together because of a special piece of Designer Series Paper, and that's exactly what happened with this project! I call this a Half Front Card because the upper portion of the card front has been removed, creating a fun and unexpected opening that gives a sneak peek of the details inside.
For this card, I couldn't resist using the adorable scene from the Silly Old Bear Designer Series Paper as the backdrop. The sweet woodland setting creates the perfect home for the stamped and colored Piglet image, making it look as though he's wandered right into the storybook scene. The result is a card that feels warm, nostalgic, and full of charm.
One of my favorite features is how the design reveals itself little by little. On the front of the card, you catch a glimpse of the Very Vanilla layer embossed with the Hundred Acre Woods 3D Embossing Folder. The subtle texture adds depth and interest without overwhelming the focal image. Then, when the card is opened, you get a much better look at the embossed background, creating a delightful surprise for the recipient.
The sentiment, along with the beautiful decorative label dies, comes from the Sweet Words & Labels Bundle. I love how the elegant frame highlights the woodland scene while the heartfelt sentiment perfectly complements the sweet Piglet image that I stamped in Early Espresso ink and colored with Barely Blush ink and a Water Painter...and a Barely Blush Shimmer Brush for his body. Ack! That Shimmer Brush makes him extra special!

Early Espresso cardstock:
-8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored in half at 4 1/4", cut the top half of the front of the card off, 2 3/4" from the top
