Flip Flap Card

Updated: Oct 5, 2023

😂 I laugh because of my crazy name for this card. I'm not sure what others call it, but for me, it's got a couple of flips and flaps, so "Flip Flap," it is!

I'm a little behind on my alternate Paper Pumpkin projects due to my trip to Vegas at the end of August for BackStage. I finally got August's alternate project ready to share! So...I took the August Paper Pumpkin kit called Meaningful Flowers to create my Flip Flap card. I call it that, I think, because it opens three ways, which is pretty unique. It flips and it flaps, and it makes me happy to flip and flap it.

When closed, the card looks perfectly normal.

Untie the twine and the magic happens. I started with a piece of Tahitian Tide cardstock, measuring 10" x 5 1/2", scored at just under 4 1/4" and 8 1/2". The first opening is from a mini card that is cut 7" x 3", scored in half at 3 1/2", the layer on the outside, as well as the white ones on the inside, measure 3 1/4" x 2 3/4". The white pieces can certainly be decorated some more...I just quit while I was ahead and figure there are pictures or poems or sentiments I can write here for the recipient.

The second opening is from the smaller flap on the larger card. Opening it reveals the beautiful 4" x 5 1/4" Designer Series Paper on the inside - but truth be told, for mine, I used one of the envelopes from the Paper Pumpkin kit. When I took the envelope apart, it just begged to be used on my card.

Opening the last flap reveals two pieces of 4" x 5 1/4" Basic White cardstock, but the one on the left has a little surprise, which I cut from one of the cards from the Kit, which makes the perfect spot for a gift card. A sentiment and/or written message can be added to the right side of the card to fill the space.

So there it is, my Flip Flap card that can be made with a wide variety of products...not just August's Paper Pumpkin kit. Watch me create this card here:

Happy creating!

Amy
