Worth the Wait

Ahhhhhhhh....Things are finally settling down for the year, I think!

Sometimes I have to make choices on what takes priority, and this last week or two, blogging has not been it. I'm happy to be back, and extra happy to share this beautiful money holder, which I shared during my What's Up! Stampers? Facebook Live this past Wednesday. I think you'll find it's been worth the wait for this blog post. What I love most about it is that I used a Designer Series Paper that isn't necessarily designed to be a Christmas paper, but I definitely think it works for Christmas! Hurray for Blackberry Beauty!

The design of the money holder is simple.

  • Cut a piece of cardstock 7 1/2" x 9"

  • Score parallel to each short side at 2 3/4"

  • Score parallel to each long side at 1/2"

  • Trim on the 1/2" score line down one 2 3/4" and the middle section, then trim the 1/2" piece off

  • Use a small circle die or punch to cut a notch in the section the 1/2" piece was NOT cut out

Thoroughly confused? Perhaps the map below will help! :)

When the tabs are folded in and the notched section adhered to those tabs, the perfect pocket is made for the money or the check.

Change papers and colors to make this money holder appropriate for any occasion. Imagine it made with the Simply Elegant Designer Series Paper for a wedding money holder. Oh, so pretty!

The Host item Pattern Party Designer Series Paper could turn it into an adorable birthday money holder, too! The bright and happy colors in that DSP would be perfect!

For a full video tutorial on how to put this money holder together, you can watch a portion of What's Up! Stampers?, which I have uploaded to YouTube. Watch here:

Enjoy this last minute Christmas gift-giving idea, and happy stamping!
