Why Can't the Outdoors Be Elegant?

As we've established multiple times, I'm a huge fan of leaf stamps, especially leaves in Fall. The color possibilities are fantastic, and the beauty is breathtaking. I'm fortunate to live in a state with four seasons, and Fall is definitely my favorite. So when new leaf stamps and dies were introduced in the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog, obviously that bundle went directly to the top five on my must have list from the Mini Catalog, and I've even blogged about it before.

Just look at the detail in the Intricate Leaves Dies! The name tells the leaves as they are, and I found when making my first card with this bundle, that those intricate leaves are GORGEOUS in foil paper. (Ha! No wonder the stamp set is called Gorgeous Leaves and the dies are called Intricate Leaves! I can't even describe them without using those words!) Just LOOK at how beautiful the outdoors can be using this bundle:

See? Elegant and outdoors can coexist. :) Here are the paper dimensions for this beauty:

Thick Very Vanilla cardstock:

-5 1/2" x 8 1/2"

Very Vanilla cardstock:

-3 3/4" x 5"

-3/4" x 3"

-scrap for small leaf stamped in Cajun Craze ink

Gold Foil Paper:

-3 7/8" x 5 1/8"

Soft Suede cardstock:

-scrap for branch

I have a couple of great tips for you when making this card. First of all, to save that beautiful gold foil paper, cut out the intricate leaf from the center of the gold foil layer. The center of the gold foil will be covered by the Very Vanilla layer on top of it, anyway!

Also, when preparing the Very Vanilla layer, stamp the woodgrain stamp first in Crumb Cake ink, then add a bit of subtle color using a Blending Brush and more Crumb Cake ink.

When ink has been applied, THEN emboss it with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder, followed by the rest of the card assembly. Pay special attention to all of the detail with the leaves, branch, and ribbon. The combination is so gorgeous, you'll almost forget these leaves belong in the outdoors.

For a complete list of supplies and links to my online store, see below. Don't forget that when you place an order of $50 or more, you'll receive a free card kit at the end of the month. In addition, if you place an order under $150, use my monthly host code for ANOTHER free gift! Do not use the host code with orders of $150 or more, because you'll get to choose free host rewards at that point.

Stamping blessings...with leaves!
