The 12 Projects of Christmas 2025: Project #8

With so much on tap at the Rich house, It's been a bit since I've been able to prepare the next project for you. But it's worth the wait! This one uses a simple color blending technique for our background and a ribbon trick that could be a game-changer for people don't feel they can properly tie knots or bows.

So after a long-awaited break, here we are: Project #8!

Oh, my goodness...so pretty! It features the Jolly Holly Bundle - a stamp set and a coordinating Hybrid Embossing Folder that I decided to use as my background. Typically Hybrid Embossing Folders cut and emboss at the same time, but this time, I just used the Embossing Folder and let the beautiful holly speak for itself.

To create the look I was going for, I cut a piece of Stampin' Up!® Masking Paper and Basic White cardstock the same size - 3 7/8" x 5 1/8". I then embossed the white cardstock using the Jolly Holly Hybrid Folder, cut one of the Everyday Arches Dies from the center of the Masking Paper, then peel and stick frame to the Basic White piece with the embossing.

I then blended reds and greens over the opening of the frame using the Small Blending Brushes. After peeling the Masking Paper off the card, I could finish it off with some ribbon and a sentiment.

But can we just talk for a second about that embossed background paper? It's gorgeous, but what about adding Wink of Stella to the leaves? Yes...yes, I think I like it and was even able to capture it on camera. What kind of looks like spots of white are actually the Wink of Stella. So pretty in person and perfect for this project.

Did you notice the ribbon? I am telling you. This is a fool-proof way to make a knot on your card. Do you trust me? Watch me create this card - and share a cool ribbon technique - here:

Project #8 has been a goodie...makes me wonder what good projects are to come!

Happy stamping, my friends!
