The 12 Projects of Christmas 2025: Project #11

I couldn't be more excited about this project because I love love love creating 3D projects with paper! For Project #11 in The 12 Projects of Christmas, I focus on making four charming Christmas tags paired with a custom tag box. The highlight of this project is the tag box, crafted from Crumb Cake and Basic White cardstock, designed to hold the tags neatly and make a perfect gift set or to store tags you'll use yourself.

Creating the Christmas Tags

The four Christmas tags I made are inspired by tags from the Stampin' Up! website but made unique when I paired the Patterned Tags Dies and the Christmas Tags & More 6" x 6" Mix & Match Specialty Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!®. Using the Patterned Tags Dies, I cut out tag shapes from cardstocks that coordinate with the unique Designer Series Paper (DSP). This 6" x 6" paper has die cut images that made decorating the tags - and the outside of the box - a breeze!

I love how each tag is different and uses a variety of different colors and die cuts from the paper.

Building the Tag Box

The tag box is what sets this project apart. It’s designed to hold the four tags and present them beautifully. The base of the box is made from a single piece of Crumb Cake cardstock measuring 5 1/2" x 4".

Step-by-step box assembly:

  • Score the Crumb Cake cardstock at 2 1/4" and 3 1/4".

  • Fold along the score lines to form the box shape.

  • Cut two Basic White cardstock pieces measuring 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" for the inside pockets.

  • Score each Basic White piece along the 5 1/2" side at 1 1/4", 1 3/4", and 4 1/4".

  • Score each Basic White piece along the 3 1/2" side at 2" and 2 1/2"

  • Cut these white pieces as shown below, fold along the scored lines, then on each box adhere the final flaps in place, creating the two small boxes.

  • Attach the pockets inside the box on opposite sides, creating two compartments to hold the tags.

  • Decorate the outside of the box with a piece of 2" x 3 3/4" Christmas Tags & More DSP.

  • Create a belly band with a piece of 7" x 1" Garden Green cardstock before adding another die cut from the DSP and a bow cut using the Patterened Tags Dies.
