The 12 Projects of Christmas 2025: Project #5 and Paper Pumpkin Alternate

Every once in awhile I run across a fun fold card and know immediately that I need to make it. This is one of them. And then when I opened my October 2025 Paper Pumpkin kit, I knew immediately it was the kit's contents I wanted to use to make this amazing card. I knew the large ornament from the kit needed to be the focal image.

The Diamond Pillar Pop-up card I originally saw was from Lisa Curcio, but because I was using the Paper Pumpkin Kit's card bases for my decorative layers, I had some sizing to adjust. Here are the sizes of papers I needed for this crazy card.

Garden Green cardstock:

-Two pieces 11" x 6", scored at 1", 3 1/2", 6", 7", 8", 9", and 10" - when these are assembled, two card bases with a pillar on one side are created.

-Two pieces 5" x 6", scored at 1", 2", 3", and 4" - when these are assembled, two separate pillars are created. These are adhered to the card bases on the opposite end of the pillars already there, then the two card bases are adhered together by the pillars. See video below for a clear tutorial of the process.

Basic Beige Two-tone cardstock:

-Four pieces 2 1/8" x 5 5/8"

-Twelve pieces 5/8" x 5 5/8"

I also used two of the card bases from the kit - the Garden Green base and the Basic Beige base. The pieces from those should be cut as follows.

Garden Green card base:

-Three pieces 2" x 5 1/2"

Basic Beige card base:

-Twelve pieces 1/2" x 5 1/2"

You can watch me put the card together here:

There are a lot of pieces of paper for this card, but when all is said and done, it's not a super difficult fun fold to put together. And just look at the results!

And I love how the mechanism we created near the end of the video pops the ornament off the fold of the card...a really fun pop-up card!

I hope you enjoyed the 5th in this 12 Projects series. I love love love making fun fold cards, so you know I loved making this one! Thank you for following along with the series!

Happy fun folding!
