Sweet Citrus

After a month or so with the Sweet Citrus bundle and not opening the hybrid embossing folder package, it was time to open it and put it to good use. I've seen some really cute samples using this bundle.

These are swaps I received from Heather Guerrero, Amanda VanHavermaet, and Tracy Filter.

I've seen the citrus made into lemons and oranges, sure, but also limes, grapefruit, and even coconut. CUTENESS! But what, pray tell, is a Hybrid Embossing Folder? It's a die set and an embossing folder that work together to cut and emboss all at the same time. You can see the detail pretty well in Tracy's lemons cut out of vellum cardstock.

I played with the Sweet Citrus Bundle for the first time when I brought it out to use on Wednesday during What's Up! Stampers. I showed how this hybrid thing works, and you can watch here. The results turned out so happy, that I put it on my bedside table for a couple nights so I could wake up to it in the morning. :D

Some of the details are just special, starting with the lemons, which are stamped in Crushed Curry (rind) and Daffodil Delight (inside). They're also embossed, of course, with the Hybrid Embossing Folder. Added to the lemons, of course, are a blossom and leaves, stamped and cut out with items in the stamp set and dies.

I'd be remiss if I did not mention the Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper that has the perfect design for the Sweet Citrus Bundle.

Finally, one more thing makes the whole card come together perfectly: the frame. I first cut a frame using the fourth and second largest of the Stitched Rectangles Dies.

I then ran it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine using the Sweet Citrus Embossing Folder, this time without the dies.

Cut the paper as follows...

Thick Basic White cardstock:

-4 1/4" x 11", scored in half at 5 1/2"

Basic White cardstock:

-4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (use the Stitched Rectangles Dies - 4th and 2nd largest - to cut a frame out of this piece.)

-4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (stamp the lemons on here and then cut them out using the embossing folder with citrus die to cut them out at the same time). -3" x 3/4" (cut the ends using the Happy Labels Pick a Punch)

-scraps on which to stamp the flower and leaves, cutting them out with the Sweet Citrus Dies.

Tea Boutique Designer Series Paper:

-3 1/4" x 4 1/2"

The final result, again, makes me so happy.

How lemons can make me so happy is beyond me, but whatever. They do. The end.
