It's All About the Layout

I cannot tell you how many times I sit and stare at a stamp set and wonder what it is that I should do with it. I've said it before...and I'll say it again...sometimes a layout makes all the difference in my creativity. Straight to Pinterest I go, and in the search I type in "Card layouts," and then I see what comes up that sparks the creative process.

This week it happened again. My brain gave me a roadblock to creativity, so I found this layout and went with it. Thanks to Paper Play Sketches for the inspiration!

So Wednesday during What's Up! Stampers? I decided to create a fun Halloween card using this layout.

Gosh, I love that Parakeet Party color! So much so that I altered some Designer Series Paper (DSP) with it. In a blog post a number of weeks ago, I talked about altering DSP. You can see that blog post here. On this one, like the last, I used Stampin' Blends to alter the 3" x 4" DSP, coloring the white spaces with Parakeet Party Blends.

I layered that DSP onto a piece of Parakeet Party cardstock, measuring 3 1/8" x 4 1/8", then adhered it at an angle to the front of the Thick Basic White card base that I cut 4 1/4" x 11." Our Glitter Washi Tape makes a great accent...especially in Parakeet Party! The addition of the witch's hat and spiders made the card come together just perfectly. You can watch me make this card here. You should proably check it out - I give several great tips in the video - some of which may change your life! :) For a full list of supplies I used to make the card, along with links to my online store, see the end of this blog post.

In the meantime, check out this layout with some other great products:

Ready to find the layout that will break you out of your lack of creativity? You've got this!

Happy stamping!
