Happier than Happy

Updated: Feb 2

What makes me happier than happy when it comes to stamping? FUN FOLD cards and PRODUCT COORDINATION. Thankfully, Stampin' Up!® makes it easy to do both.

Let's start with product coordination. There are many Suite Collections in the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog, and those make it the easiest way to shop coordination. The Happy Forest Friends is a fun suite that caught my eye my first time through the new catalog.

So...Product Coordination - check! Next up: Fun Fold card. And this one's a goodie!

This is a cool fun fold card because it's easier than it looks. I've seen cards like this before, but I designed the sizes by sight. It's base was made using two pieces of Basic Gray cardstock:

-2 3/4" x 8 1/2", folded in half for the top peak of the card. Because I was making this card for a 20 card swap, this size made sense because I could get exactly four out of a piece of 8 1/2" x 11" cardstock with no waste.

-5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 1 1/4", 2 1/2", and 5 1/2". Accordion fold on these score lines to get the two bottom peaks.

Next, adhere two pieces of the Happy Forest Friends Designer Series Paper, as shown.

-Mushrooms: 5 1/4" x 2 3/4"

-"plus" signs: 5 1/4" x 1"

Adhere the smaller piece of Basic Gray cardstock to the larger one, as shown. Here's the back side:

Basic White cardstock:

-2 1/2" x 4"

-Scrap for bear and mushrooms

Mossy Meadow cardstock:

-Scrap for the tree

One thing that is difficult to see in the pics is a fun, subtle feature: a cloud behind the bear's head. I used the cloud punch on a sticky note to create a mask. I put the mask in the sky of the Basic White layer and added some Pool Party ink using a Blending Brush to create the sky scene. I colored the grass in Old Olive ink with a Blending Brush, as well.

Isn't this card fun? It's got so many fun features, and it makes me smile every time I look at it!

For a complete list of supplies I used on the card, along with links to those products in my online store, check out the end of this post. For a full video tutorial, watch here and head to YouTube to subscribe to my channel so you don't miss a single tutorial!

Be happier than happy! Be happy stamping!
