Farewell, Sale-a-bration! Hello, March!

All good things must come to an end, and Thursday was the last day for Sale-a-bration. The day before that, we wished Sale-a-bration (SAB) a fond farewell during What's Up! Stampers, mostly to share amazing samples that use SAB products. But I also did make one last SAB card during What's Up!, and I used one of the stamp sets from the Annual Catalog that was added to the FREE SAB offering in early February. Beside Me is a great masculine stamp set, and the good news: it didn't disappear with Sale-a-bration!

There are some great ways to use the stamp set...

It was from this last card that I decided to take inspiration for Wednesday's card. I used the Trusty Toolbox SAB Designer Series Paper for my background.

I put a piece of 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" of the Designer Series Paper on the card base (5 1/2" x 8 1/2", folded in half).

But how did I do the focal image? It was quite simple, actually. I started with a piece of 4" x 2 3/4" Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. I stamped the image in Jet Black Staz On ink, then spritzed it with water using the Stampin' Up!® Spritzer. While the paper was still wet, I colored the image using Watercolor Pencils. The wetness of the paper made the color go on quite smoothly. Any spots the pencil didn't automatically blend because the paper was perhaps not wet enough, I used a Water Painter to do some more blending.

You can see me make the card by clicking here. At the bottom of this blog post is a list of all the supplies I used to make the card, along with links to my online store for each product.
