Changing Things Up

Stampin' Up!®'s Kits Collection is spectacular, and there are so many possibilities. Kits that make cards, kits with stamping, kits without stamping, kits that make things other than cards...you get the idea. There's truly something for everyone. On February 1, it was announced that more Sale-a-bration items have been added to the list of freebies. Two of the kits from our Kits Collection are on that list of new freebies. Check out the extra choices of products you can choose for free with every $50 or $100 in orders.

You can see the original exclusive Sale-a-bration items in the Sale-a-bration brochure:

Back to the kits available free now during Sale-a-brtion...

Another demonstrator recommended the Kindness Cards Kit, but I had never before given this kit a second glance. I respect the person that recommended it, so i chose it as a free Sale-a-bration gift. Yes, I knew vaguely what the contents of the kit looked like, but it wasn't until I opened the box until I understood the cards inside are...

  1. pieces of chipboard, like coasters

  2. make extremely simple, 3" x 3" chipboard cards that fit in tiny envelopes

But when the creative juices start flowing, it's difficult to stop them. What full-sized cards could I make using items in the kit? My first attempt came on Wednesday during What's Up! Stampers?.

For the background, I chose Subtles 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper and cut it to size on the card base - 5 1/2" x 4 1/4". The 5 1/2" x 2" piece of Basic White at the top is decorated with Pool Party ribbon getting wrapped around it. The decorated coaster from the kit is decorated with a piece of Vellum cut with the Decorative Circle punch, followed by the kindness sentiment stamped on a circle in Bermuda Bay ink. A cute alternative to the 3" x 3" coaster card, eh?

The second card I made features a decorative coaster from the kit, Designer Series Paper from the Design A Daydream Host Designer Series Paper pack, and a unique card opening.

To make this card:

Daffodil Delight cardstock:

-4 1/4" x 7 1/4", scored at 5 1/2"

-4 1/4" x 1 3/4" (this pieces gets laid at the bottom of the card so you can add the decorative coaster from the kit to connect the two.

Design A Daydream Designer Series Paper:

-Two pieces 4" x 1 1/2"

Basic White for the inside:

-4" x 5 1/4"

For this one, I cut pieces 3" x 3" from the mini envelopes that comes with the kit. I used the inside of the envelope (green) and the outside of the envelope (blue) to create the background to the decorative coaster

The last full-sized card I made using this kit showcases the opposite side of the decorative chipboard piece to showcase the metallic Flirty Flamingo edge.

With the first Sale-a-bration item now sold out, you may be running out of time to get the Sale-a-bration product you'd like. Don't forget to place your $50 or $100+ order so you can choose your freebies before they're gone!

If you'd just like to purchase a kit to put together for fun, that is an option, too! Want to set some time aside from your busy schedule to Paper Craft a kit along with me on Sunday, March 12, at 1pm Central time. I'll be putting together the Birthday Card Organizer Kit and invite you to do the same one...or a different kit. So order your kit, and set that time aside so we can all feel accomplished in a short hour of working on our kits! We'll meet on my Facebook Page, from where I will be going live. Be there.

Happy creative juices!

Amy
