A Simple Gift Card Holder

The Thanksgiving weekend has come and gone, and I'm just now sitting down to write my Friday blog post, and it's 11pm on Sunday night. I guess that means it was a good weekend, and it was. Time with family is precious, and we enjoy every moment of our time with them over the Thanksgiving holiday. Today was a day at home, putting things away, cleaning up, and enjoying a few more hours has a household family unit before the work and the crazy starts again on Monday.

It is really another big week here, though, with Stampin' Up!®'s Last Chance sale starting on Thursday. Lots of good deals are to be had as we say good-bye to some pretty sweet products, including the Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper, which is the focal point for this simple gift card holder we made at What's Up! Stampers? on Wednesday.

I started with a piece of Real Red cardstock measuring 9 3/4" x 4 1/4", and I scored it at 1 1/2" and 4 1/4". On the end with the 1 1/2" section created by the scoring, I used my Label Me Fancy punch to create a notch. I added a thin line of adhesive along the two edges of that 1 1/2" section and folded it in to create a pocket for my money or gift card before folding the 4 1/4" scored line in, as well.

I decorated a piece of 5 1/4" x 4" Basic White cardstock to adhere to the inside of the card, making sure the candy canes I cut from the Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper are seen when the card is closed, as well as open.

For the front of the card, the dimensions are as follows.

Garden Green cardstock:

-2 1/2" x 4"

Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper:

-2 1/8" x 3 7/8"

It's sweet (pun intended) and simple as can be and can certainly be decorated in other ways using different Designer Series Paper cut-outs, die cuts, stamps, or let your imagination run wild! You can watch here as I create this card on Facebook. See all the supplies I used, along with links to my online store, at the bottom of this blog post.

For all the details on the upcoming Last Chance sale, be sure to check back here on Tuesday. It's a great sale, so plan now to order early before things disappear.

Happy creating!

Amy
